Single Payer in Connecticut

Connecticut Health Care Security Act  page

Information about Public Health Bill 5872 which was introduced into the Connecticut legislature in 2001

The Connecticut Health Care Security Act (PHB 5872), a single payer, universal health care bill,  was not raised for a public hearing by the Public Health Committee by the February 8, 2001 deadline. Despite the support of three out of six members of the steering committee for a public hearing on the bill, the steering committee did not recommend raising it.  This effectively kills the bill for 2001.
