Bill #7030 - Access to Health Care for
Working Families

At the beginning of 1999 a single payer universal health care bill was introduced into the Connecticut legislature.  Hearings on the bill were held before the CT House Labor Committee on March 18, 1999 (an edited video tape is available). On April 6 the bill passed the Labor Committee by a 9 to 5 vote.

However, the 1999 CT Legislative session ended on June 9, 1999 without Bill No. 7030 being brought to the house floor for a vote.  The bill will have to be reintroduced in the next session (January, 2000).
